시작,
처음으로 행해지거나 쉬었다가 다시 행해지게 되다.

시작이란,
처음과 '다시 그리고'가 함께하는 것.

제가 마치 무슨 대단한 사람이라도 되는 마냥 글을 남기기 부끄럽지만 그래도 아쉬운 마음을 달래려 남깁니다.

 

저희 가족은 빙햄튼하고 인연이 깊은 것 같습니다.
저와 동생은 뉴욕주립대 빙햄튼에서 학부를,

아버지는 빙햄튼의 자매결연 학교인 영국의 바스대학교 석사를 나왔습니다.

 

저는 한국 대학교를 다니다 군대를 전역하고 좋은 기회를 누렸으면 좋겠다는 부모님의 뜻에  따라 동생이 다니는 학교에 편입을 했고 이렇게 졸업에 정들었던 빙햄튼을 떠나게 됩니다.

 

몇 년 전만해도 저는 미국 대학교에서 공부를 한다는 것을 상상도 못했습니다. 막상 졸업하고도 제가 미국 대학교를 졸업했다는 사실이 아직 실감이 잘 나지 않네요.

 

무턱대고 블로그를 시작했지만 많은 분들에게 도움을 줄 수 있어서 행복했습니다.

알려드리고 싶은 것이 더 많이 있지만 그러질 못해 참 아쉽기만 하네요

그래도 계속해서 못다한 이야기를 해드리겠습니다.

 

앞으로의 꿈이 뭐냐고 물으신다면 막연하고 추상적이지만 행복해지는 것이라고 말하고 싶습니다.

 

과거 어려운 시대를 지나 한국의 경제성장을 함꼐 해오신 우리 부모님들,
우리에게는 더 나은 삶을 살고 행복해지라는 뜻에서 유학을 보내주셨을 겁니다.

 

결국 우리 모두 행복해지기 위해 살아가는 것은 아닐까요.

 

아직까지도 철없는 이 못난 아들, 아버지, 어머니께 효도 한 번 제대로 해드리지 못했네요,

 

항상 서툴러 표현 한 번 제대로 못했지만 이 글을 빌어 말씀드립니다.

어머니, 아버지 감사합니다. 그리고 사랑합니다.

Flying Pan : 영어이름 Peter / 날아다니는 피터팬은 네버랜드에서 평생 어린이로 살고 있습니다.

하지만 어느덧 저도 어른이 돼 버렸네요.
